Hi,
My name is Deborah Claxton and as of April 2012 I am 48 years old. I am a daughter, sister, niece, cousin, wife, mother and nana. I have a wonderful husband and terrific children. I have three (3) children of my own and my husband has two (2) children. I have one (1) grandson and he has one (1) grandson. Together we have five (5) children, two (2) grandchildren, two (2) dogs and seven (7) chickens.
I became interested in genealogy when I was in 5th grade. Our history project was to research our family tree as far back as we could go. We were to start with ourselves and go backwards. I wrote down all of the information that I knew for my immediate family and then I started interviewing my parents and grandparents. I interviewed my aunts and uncles for missing information that I needed.
My grandfather on my dad’s side of the family gave me the name and address of a lady that lived in Iowa that had been researching my dad’s side of the family and she had researched back to the 1700’s. We started exchanging family tree information, but I never received all of her information, nor did she receive all of mine because she died. I found this so interesting that I went out on the adventure by myself to research all of my family lines. I kept researching in libraries and interviewing different family members after her passing.
My research was stopped for a few years because I got married in 1982, had my first child in 1983 and then another in 1986. My dad died in 1987 and I had another child in 1990. When my youngest child started to school I started researching a little bit more in libraries and interviewing family members. But in 2004, I purchased my first computer and to my dismay I found that there were hundreds of people researching their family trees via the internet. These family lines included my dad’s paternal and maternal families and my mom’s paternal and maternal families.
This website is a collaboration of all the information that I have gathered on my family tree. It is information from my paternal and maternal families and is far yet but finished. My intentions for this website are a place to put all of my research so it is in one place for me to look at, for my descendants and any other researchers that are interested in these family lines. In fact, if it was not for other researchers I would not have all the information that I have today.
