♫ Maverick ♫

I recently created this piece for my best friend, and I absolutely adore how it turned out. Not only does is reflect his intense personality, but it also represents his internal struggle. In my experience, the beautiful people are the most broken. He is not exempt from this. Yet, each day he puts on a face and walks through life as if he is on fire. He is the solider that protects our land, the student who strives for perfection, and the best friend who never lets you down. I named this piece Maverick in relation to its definition, “an unorthodox or independent-minded person.” He may be a solider, but he will find a solution to any problem. It doesn’t matter what life throws out him because he will always find a way to succeed, to survive, and to win.

♫ Fabricated Tunes ♫

Print design has taught me endless lessons about simplicity. My natural reaction to a blank canvas is to cover it with chaos; which is only awesome if you’re drafting ideas or are the next Picasso. The CD covers were not a school project, but a personal endeavor. Designing for others effects my thinking by altering my “MVPs,” or main goals of a design. Thoughts solidify into cohesive and concise plans when I exempt my personal preferences. Composing gifts for others encourages me to try new techniques because I am fixated on astounding them. The struggle with this project was combining two paradoxes; the emotional representation of the track list, and of the intended receiver. I feel satisfied with these designs because fulfilled this challenge. My ambitious and competitive nature delivered a unique outcome; which is why I have included it in my portfolio.

♫ About Me Video ♫

Motion Graphics recently became a serendipitous artistic outlet for me. After a rough introduction to it in my Typography class, I finally found solid ground in Intro to Motion Graphics. Animation is not my specialization for Graphic Design, but I would love to learn more about it. I think there’s a simple beauty in combining various elements to a piece. This video is a short introduction of myself, my style, and my three defining characteristics. In the future I plan on polishing it more, especially the glitch effect and it’s sounds.

Personal Website

Web Design is an art form that did not come naturally to me. Honestly, I didn’t think it would be something I would ever enjoy. Six months ago, I didn’t know how to code at all. Now I feel like I’m one of the top students in my class. The desire to learn more about coding and its different entities has become close to an obsession. My personal portfolio site has gone through many renovations, but I am very proud of where it’s currently at. If a potential employer looked at this website I would feel confident in its design and in its integrity to represent who I am.

Dessert Promo

Versatility is a virtuous trait among designers. To meet the demands of the technology revolution, I must be able to conceptualize for both web and print. The promotional advertisement is for my restaurant website, Pin2Plate. The selling point of the company is its dedication to healthy eating and customer satisfaction. I arranged this piece to showcase the appealing brownie first and the in content second. Simplicity was key in the success of this ad because I needed the viewer to focus on the food; mainly on how delicious it looks. This design is included in my portfolio because it also shows exponential improvement from the posters I created in previous years.
