the easiest style to achieve for a beginner.
Informal Upright BonsaiThe Informal Upright bonsai style is very similar to the Formal
Upright bonsai style except the top branch bends a little forward.
Cascade BonsaiThe Cascade bonsai style of tree creates a sloping effect. The trunk
turns and dips below the surface of the pot in a cascade effect.
Semi Cascade BonsaiThe Semi Cascade bonsai style extends over the edge of the pot,
but the trunk extends vertically then slopes gradually.
Leaning BonsaiThe Leaning Bonsai style should grow at an angle of about
60 - 80 degrees relative to the ground.
Broom Style BonsaiThe Broom style Bonsai is suited for deciduous trees with
extensive, fine branching in all directions about 1/3 of the
way up the entire height of the tree.
Literati BonsaiThe Literati Bonsai trunk grows crookedly upward and is
completely without branching because the sun only hits the
top of the tree.
Windswept BonsaiThe Windswept Bonsai branches as well as the trunk grow to
one side as though the wind has been blowing the tree constantly
in one direction.
Double Trunk BonsaiThe Double Trunk Bonsai has two trunks that grow out of one root
system and a single crown of leaves.
Forest BonsaiThe Forest Bonsai style looks like the multi-trunk style, but the
difference is that it is comprised of several trees rather than
one tree with several trunks.
Roots Over Rock BonsaiThe Roots Over Rock Bonsai style bonsai has the roots growing
over a rock into the pot.
