Now that the area is clean and we are as grounded as we can be it is time to begin the build.

Don't worry it may seem like a lot to do but it goes by fast and with a little practice you will not only be able to do this to save yourself money, but could probably build computers for friends.

Some words of advice, don't rush any of these steps. Patients is a virtue when building a computer. Rushing is the quickest way to break one of the components.

First let us place the case carefully on it's side.

We will be removing the parts from their containers one part at a time to keep them safe from the environment.

Now carefully remove the motherboard from the box and align the ports and plugs with the cases openings, which will usually be towards the rear of the case.

Once have the motherboard secured, it is time for one of the more delicate operations. Carefully remove the CPU from the box and locate the square, normally white, area on your motherboard.

Carefully and gently place the CPU into that slot, do not apply too much pressure if it will not go in right away it usually means the CPU is not at the right angle or something might be in the way.

With the CPU in place, now we need to set the heatsink with the same care as you used with the CPU, place the heatsink over top of the processor until you hear a click and feel that the heat sink is locked into place.

Good work we are past the difficult part, and the part where the worst can go wrong.

Now careful take the RAM out of its container and carefully slide them into the slots listed in the motherboards manual, they are usually on the opposite side of the plugs and ports.

Now let us slide the dvd drive and hard drives into their spots. Good work, we are almost done.

Now we will slide the graphics cards into place, be sure these go into the correct pci slot. You will usually have multiple pci slot and a pci express slot, depending on the motherboards design.

Now we can place the sound card on one of the other pci slots. We are now ready to slide the power supply into place, and connect all the components to it.

Once the parts are connected to the power supply close up the case, and you are ready to plug the peripheals into their respective slots, keyboard and mouse as well as any printer and monitor you may have.

Congratulations we are now ready to turn on the computer, once the computer begins to boot up place the dvd for your OS in the dvd tray and follow the step by step installation wizard. Once this is done, you are now ready to install the rest of your software and any updates that each software might need.

This is likely the easiest of the steps, but can also be the longest. Be sure to set up a restore point either with your softwares system tools or with the tools provided from the antivirus (if available). This will ensure should anything happen to your computer, you will hopefully be able to reset it back to when everything was first installed.

Now you are ready to begin using your new computer for whatever you intend to use it for. Just make sure it is set in a safe place where it will less likely be hit, or get dirty.

It is usually a good idea to regularly open the case and clean out any dust that will have been collected. There are cleaning products available to help protect the computer from the environment.
