Solar Energy is a valuable and renewable energy source. Did you know that more energy falls from the sun in one hour than all the energy used by earth in one year and that solar energy can be used through different technologies to heat, cool, and light homes and businesses? (NREL 2021). With that thought in mind, it is important that society starts to recognize types of technologies that can help harvest this power and put it to use.
Three technologies that are explored on this site include Photovoltaics, Solar Heating & Cooling, and Concentrated Solar Power. These three technologies hold a very specific definitions, but all are used to capture the energy that the sun gives off and use it for residential and commercial use according to the Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA 2021).
