These games mark the beginning of the fifth generation. They were also released for the Nintendo DS. 150 Pokémon were added bringing the total to 643. Many new features were added like seasonal cycles in which some Pokémon have their appearance change through the seasons, triple battles and rotation battles were also introduced, as was a new capture mechanic called Phenomena. Pokémon Musicals were added and are similar to the Pokémon Contest. Royal Unova is a ship that can be ridden daily. while on this ship you can fight various trainers that are onboard to win rare items. They are set in the region of Unova.
