Pokemon HeartGold and SoulSilver

These games were also released for Nintendo DS. They are remakes of Gold and Silver. When you bought the game you received a Pokéwalker. A Pokewalker is a pedometer that looked like a pokeball and could hold one Pokémon at a time, can increase the level and friendliness of that Pokemon that is in it as well catch wild Pokémon and look for items. These games reintroduced the mechanic of allowing a Pokémon from your party to follow you. With this feature you can also talk to them and occasionally get any item that they found while walking. Pokéathlons were added and they allow the Pokémon to compete in events like hurdling; the feature makes use of the DS touchscreen.
